Baseline Year: 2024/25

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations

This is Hutch Logistics Ltd’s first Carbon Reduction Plan and represents our organisational baseline.

• Scope 1 emissions are nil, as Hutch does not operate fuel-based heating or own vehicles.
• Scope 2 electricity usage has been calculated using actual meter readings for April 2024 to
March 2025.
• Scope 3 emissions are estimated using available operational data including staff headcount,
commuting distances, business travel, waste collections, and upstream transport.
• Where only estimates are available, Hutch has applied reasonable assumptions and will
refine calculations as monitoring improves.
• Baseline year and current reporting year are the same.

• Medium-term (5 years): Reduce organisational emissions by ~20% to ~5.4 tCO₂e by
2029.
• Long-term: Achieve Net Zero by 2050, in line with government policy.
• Targets will be reviewed annually, with updated Carbon Reduction Plans published to
measure progress.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

Hutch has already implemented several initiatives which have contributed to emissions
reductions:

• Adoption of energy-efficient LED lighting within the warehouse.
• Use of electric forklift trucks, eliminating LPG/diesel use.

sites.
• Transition from packing peanuts to recyclable paper box fill, ensuring the use of
sustainable packaging materials.
• Selection of efficient courier partners to consolidate journeys and minimise unnecessary
transport.
Future Carbon Reduction Initiatives
In the future, we intend hope to implement further measures over the next five years, such as:
• Transition to a renewable electricity tariff for warehouse supply.
• Continued optimisation of chilled storage efficiency.
• Introduction of a cycle-to-work scheme and other measures to support low-carbon
commuting.
• Further reduction of single-use packaging through recyclable and reusable alternatives.
